Wreck Beach ranked one of world’s top skinny dipping spots

Do you find a bathing suit gets in the way of a refreshing dip?

For people who prefer to swim sans swimsuit, a new map showcases the top skinny dipping spots around the world. 

Compiled by MyDatingAdviser, a dating reviews website, the map ranks the prime locations across the globe for enjoying a liberating naked swim.

The company compared 100 nude beaches to determine the best locations to enjoy a skinny dip. They then ranked the top 25 skinny dipping locations, with the top swimming spot per country. 

For the ranking, the beach quality, safety, weather, and lodging were taken into account. This was across seven key metrics of “skinny dipping friendliness”: (1) pollution (2) Blue Flag status, (3) weather (4) air temperature, (5) water temperature, (6) safety, and (7) hotel cost.

Using the data points, each location has been given a ‘Skinny Dipping Index Score’ that represents the “quality of the skinny dipping experience that you could have at the location.”

Where should I go skinny dipping?

So, where is the best place to throw your inhibitions and clothes on the beach and run naked into the surf?

Lokrum Island in Croatia’s stunning walled city, Dubrovnik, took the top honour. The destination is located in the Adriatic Sea and boasts several ideal places to take a dip. 

Spiaggia della Lecciona in Italy’s Tuscany region came in second place, with Australia’s Maslin Beach in Adelaide placing third. 

Vancouver’s popular Wreck Beach also made an appearance on the list, placing 23rd.
