This week marks the premiere of the most current episode of “The Royal Tour”, a just one-hour PBS unique hosted by vacation journalist Peter Greenberg that showcases a country’s tourism spots — and record, society, foodstuff, particular tales and latest events — but with a twist: the country’s head of state is Greenberg’s tour guidebook.

Our editor in main Arnie Weissmann has been alongside for the filming of numerous “Royal Tour” episodes, and most just lately he was in Tanzania to see the place with its latest president, Samia Suluhu Hassan.

To have a president, prime minister or member of the royal family demonstrate you around their country looks like an extraordinary prospect, not to point out just one filled with logistical hurdles. Both Greenberg and Weissmann joined the Folo to communicate about the origins of the “Royal Tour”, its protocols, some of Greenberg’s greatest recollections and the most stirring moments of their time in Tanzania.

This episode was recorded Thursday, April 14, and has been edited for duration and clarity.
