The Silver Star Resort Association has launched a new brand – Destination Silver Star – as the Vernon-area mountain prepares for its summer season.

The vibrant resort celebrates sports, arts, food, wine, and music with year-round events.

This summer’s lineup kicks off June 25 with the SilverStar Bike Park opening, along with a Multicultural Festival featuring live music, a local artisan market, and Slay the Dragon trail race.

Crankworx mountain bike festival returns July 27-Aug. 1.

The Reimagined Wine Festival will showcase the best of the Okanagan’s wine and food Aug. 11-14.

Celebrate Oktoberfest a month early with Silver Star’s first Craft Beer & Cider Festival on Sept. 10.

Destination Silver Star says more events will be announced as the season progresses, and it “is committed to growing the culinary, wine and beer events roster this summer, next winter and beyond.”

The organization says it will “increase business opportunities for the Silver Star community while making it easier for visitors to discover all the family-friendly mountain adventures the destination offers.”

Founded in 2021, Destination Silver Star is a not-for-profit, membership-based organization with approximately 1,000 members representing accommodations, attractions, restaurants, retail and homeowners.

“New residents are moving to the area, and the return of international travel signals an era of great opportunity for Silver Star,” it says.

Summer visitors can also take the summit express gondola and take time to explore the “gnome roam,” a mini-mystical world that resides amongst the mountain trails, along with colourful wildflowers.
