Music in Bass Corridor welcomes writer Howard Mansfield and composer Ben Cosgrove for “A Journey to the White Mountains in Words and phrases and Music” Saturday, June 4, at 7:30 p.m. at the Monadnock Centre for Heritage and Tradition, 19 Grove St. in Peterborough.

For hundreds of many years, people have traveled to the White Mountains trying to get something specific. The present, based mostly on a chapter in Mansfield’s most recent reserve, “Chasing Eden,” is about how the discovery of the White Mountains influences people today to this day. Cosgrove is a traveling composer-performer whose music explores themes of landscape, place and ecosystem. Cosgrove has executed across the United States and held various artist residencies, which include with the Countrywide Park Assistance, the Nationwide Forest Services, the Schmidt Ocean Institute and the Sitka Center for Art & Ecology.
