Dornbracht and Alape provide solutions for The Château de Vignée • Hotel Designs

The Belgian design studio WeWantMore has turned the Château de Vignée in the Ardennes into an aesthetically remarkable boutique lodge. The Château de Vignée is found in the Belgian Ardennes and is surrounded by open up meadows and dense forests. Deeply rooted in the location, it acted as a meeting put for hunters for generations. The previous hunting lodge has now been reworked into a boutique resort and the layout team discovered a specific way to reinterpret the rustic attraction of a home that was designed in 1658. The premises are prosperous in element, their structure now affected as much by the austere attractiveness of bordering character as by their extravagant, 19th century inheritance. The picked products, lights ideas and color schemes take much of their inspiration from the surrounding landscape – while playfully organized stuffed animals evoke the Château’s history with a twinkle in the eye.

Alongside with extensively refurbished and restored rooms, the building offers a bar and lounge, a large-class restaurant and a spa area. The spacious loos in the junior suites are characterised by marble and whitewashed plaster walls. The undermount basins of the Alape Metaphor collection fit seamlessly into the inside structure. Their lessened, linear variety results in an atmosphere of clarity and framework. Metaphor is complemented congenially by the Dornbracht vintage Tara. The colour utilised for the fittings and basins is Black matt: the darkish end contrasting superbly with the impressive graining of the marble. The geometric purity of the style mirror by Alape and the Guide floating shelf technique complete the arrangement.

Anthracite colored marble was the predominant impact in the bathrooms of the superior rooms. The counter-top basins on the washstands appear from the Alape Unisono sequence. Glazed steel, with its non-porous and immaculate complete in a product that is only 3 mm thick, sets a really ornamental and delicate tone here. The circular condition of the basin also harmonises stylishly with the similarly round structure mirror. The Black matt finishes of the Alape basins and Dornbracht’s vintage Tara fitting exert a calming result in combination with the subtle shade of the marble – and deliver a feeling of intimacy and elegance to the interior of the place.
